Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg, Poet, Writer, Facilitator & Teacher |
Writing
is a
transformative practice that can wake us up, serve as a rite of
passage, let us hear our own stories and meanings, and give us greater
access to our native voice and vision. Caryn
Mirriam-Goldberg, poet, writer and teacher, is founder and coordinator
of Goddard
College's Transformative Language Arts degree, facilitates
workshops
people of all backgrounds, gives readings and performances,
writes
in many
genres and on many topics and,
with singer-songwriter Kelley Hunt, offers Brave Voice performances
and
workshops. Her workshops, publications and
teaching focus on how writing our truths in our own
language
- right where we are - can bring us greater insight, vitality, health,
compassion and wisdom. Writing, telling stories and listening to one
another is
part of the work of Tikkum Olam, the Hebrew phrase that means putting
back together
the broken world: through our words we can mend our lives, connect with
our
communities and eco-communities, and cultivate the courage to embrace life.
